Sysco Tour & Food Safety Management Presentation

KAND is excited to offer this coveted opportunity to tour the Sysco facility in Knoxville. Jim Lucas, an expert in the food safety and quality field, will be taking us through the facility. He will talk about best practices in food safety, and he will show us what it takes to provide quality service to the many restaurants, hotels, banquet and medical facilities that utilize their food in our area.

A few notes related to food and personal safety that we must follow to attend the tour:
  • All individuals on the tour must wear close-toed shoes that have tread (no high heels or flats without adequate tread)
  • Bring a coat or pullover. The refrigerated dock is maintained at 38F, and many of the other areas we will tour will be even colder
  • No personal food or drinks are allowed in the warehouse, to include gum, cough drops, candy, water bottles, soda, etc.
  • No one that is ill or suffering from symptoms of a communicable disease will be allowed to tour the warehouse
