The Tennessee Dietetic Association’s Day on the Hill is a prime opportunity for registered dietitians to get involved in the political process and affect public policy where we work, live, and play. It is also a great opportunity to earn 4 CPEUs for FREE! This year Hill Day will take place from 1:00 - 4:30pm, with speakers from 1:00 - 3:00 pm and appointments with legislators from 3:00 to 4:30 pm.
If you are interested in attending the Day on the Hill or if you have questions about this event, please email KDDA’s legislative liaison, Betsy Anderson, at eander24@utk.edu. If you are planning on attending the Day on the Hill please include your home address in the email, and she will schedule you for a meeting with the legislators from your district. Provide names for any other legislators you would like to meet.

Food Safety Certification in the Workplace

Children’s Hospital will be hosting a Food Safety Certification in the Workplace seminar on Monday, March 15. This seminar provides excellent information to RDs, CDMs, food handlers and sanitation workers. RDs may earn 5.5 CPE credits. This is an all day seminar, lunch and parking included, for $35. Join us for the Promoting Healthy Weight colloquium, which is FREE for both online and on-site participants! This is the third of a series of biannual colloquia, which will be offered on the 4th Friday in March and September through 2013. This colloquium will highlight infancy and how parenting, nutrition, and physical activity relate to healthy weight gain during this first developmental stage of Bright Futures. Colloquium presentations are intended for researchers, practitioners, and family members. Registered Dietitians and Certified Health Education Specialists can receive continuing education credits.
